Four years strong! The LASCO REAP 2015- 2016 year of activities launched on the grounds of the reigning victors school John Rollins Success Primary on Friday, October 9. LASCO REAP 2015-2016 will focus heavily on resource management and community stakeholders’ practices, in tandem with the global approach to environmental awareness and well-being. This year under the theme “Pick up the pace, to zero waste”.
LASCO Affiliated Companies have pledged their support for REAP and since inception committed over $20 million to carry out the initiative. The programme has grown tremendously from 50 schools in the first year to almost 250 schools, three years later, and engaged 250,000 students across the island. Through the project, 400,000 bottles have been cleaned up and collected, 12,000 trees planted, over 100 gardens started and improved.
LASCO REAP is an environmental awareness initiative that encourages students to participate in sustainable environmental practices, including tree planting, recycling, energy conservation and well-kept school and community environments.
