The scholarship recipients are; Keandra Leslie who will attend Campion College, Tenele Green who will go to Westwood High, Brianna Brown – St. Andrew High, Beyonce Black – Hampton High, Shellicia Bethune and Martina Young, who will both attend the St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School. The Lascelles Chin led company, LASCO Distributors Limited, hosted the recipients at the White Marl facility on Wednesday, July 29 where they were each officially presented with their awards.
Renee Rose, Brand Manager for LASCO Distributors Ltd. praised the young ladies for the hard work they have done so far to get to this point, where their hard work is being recognized in a meaningful way. Rose also encouraged parents to continue guiding the ladies on the right path.
“LASCO is proud to be able to present high achieving young women with these scholarships as a reward for their hard work and dedication. Parents I urge you to continue to guide, nurture and give these bright young ladies the requisite support. The fact that they are here today, is already a testament to the guidance you have given them but they will require much more going forward,” said Rose.
Parents who accompanied their children expressed gratitude on behalf of their daughters, citing the importance of getting off to a good start in High School, which is now possible thanks to LASCO.
The LASCO Curves GSAT Scholarship was established to help empower young women across the island by directly aiding their educational pursuits. The scholarships were awarded to the top performing female students from Primary Schools, in the GSAT examinations, from each of the Ministry of Education’s six regions.
LASCO continues to encourage nation building through implementing and supporting nation building programmes, where youth in this case, six young women, are given a push toward securing an academic future.
